Vice President, Commerce

Jamie Holcombe is Vice President of US AI where he leads the expansion of Intelligent Computing and Agentic Cyber Intelligence &  Defense (ACID) across the Department of Commerce and the broader federal enterprise. A nationally respected technology leader, Jamie brings a record of bold modernization, responsible AI adoption, and values-based leadership across government, national security, and commercial markets.

As Chief Information Officer of the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), Jamie spearheaded one of the largest IT transformations in the federal government. He transitioned the agency to a resilient, cloud-first, product-centric architecture, launched its first internal AI Lab, and earned USPTO its first CIO 100 Award for innovation in artificial intelligence and machine learning. His modernization efforts strengthened mission-critical systems, empowered agile product teams, and positioned USPTO as a model for federal digital transformation.

Jamie holds a Bachelor of Science in computer science from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point (first in his class), an MBA in information systems from Chaminade University, and a Master of Science in computer science from George Washington University.
