Director of Artificial Intelligence

Joseph Raetano is Director of AI at US AI where he leads the firm’s artificial intelligence strategy and execution. He oversees the development of a secure, scalable MLOps control plane that accelerates deployment of AI models and intelligent agents, embedding them into federal and enterprise operations with governance, compliance, and resilience by design. His leadership ensures that AI is the engine of US AI’s Intelligent Computing Platform and Agentic Cyber Intelligence & Defense (ACID).

A U.S. Navy veteran, Joseph served as an Explosive Ordnance Disposal Technician and Cryptologic Information Warfare Officer before becoming a leader in operationalizing AI at scale. As AI Lead at the Department of Veterans Affairs, he launched the agency’s first Generative AI pipeline—processing over 1.5 million clinical notes daily—and built the Summit Data Platform to scale AI-enabled capabilities enterprise-wide.

Joseph holds a Master’s degree in Computer Science and is completing a PhD focused on integrating psychological personality models into large language models—bridging human behavior and machine intelligence. His rare combination of military discipline, federal AI leadership, and advanced research makes him a pivotal architect of the Intelligent Computing revolution.
